First Baptist Church of Waverly, NY
Making Christ Known in the Twin Tiers and the World

The First Baptist Church of Waverly is primarily about having a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and is primarily about demonstrating that relationship in our connection with real live, everyday people. Nevertheless, in order to help facilitate those relationships, God has blessed us by giving us a place to worship so that we might grow closer to God. The church facilities comprise of two adjoining buildings-the Sanctuary built in 1891 and the Christian Education Building built in 1864. While both of these buildings are over 100 years old, they have been recently renovated to accommodate our growing worship and Christian Education needs.

The Sanctuary consists of the old and new-a beautiful pipe organ to play the great hymns of the faith and an up-to-date multimedia sound system/video projection system that is used to communicate Christ's love to today's world. The sanctuary is also handicapped accessible.

The Christian Education Building has been renovated and includes a number of classrooms, a youth room equipped with couches, a full sized, fully equipped nursery for the "little ones," and a large kitchen and Fellowship Hall in the upstairs. The Building is handicapped accessible in the top two floors.  In the fall of 2009, the restrooms on the main floor were renovated and are ADA Handicapped accessible.
